Rings with intaglio and antique-style pendants
Rings with intaglios and antique-style pendants
Engraving the material to inscribe a story, expertly undertaken in the workshops of Maison Agry, the tradition of glyptic engraving offers deep expressive power that allows the item to become an intimate link between the past and the present.
Giving shape to a personal symbol
A ring set with an intaglio, like an antique pendant, is a discreet and protected way of expressing an attachment or identity. Whether it’s a monogram, a protective sign, an ancient motif, a family symbol or even a personal creation, your idea will come to life through the expert hands of our master engravers.
The ancient gesture of glyptics, perpetuated by Maison Agry
We perpetuate a knowledge of excellence inspired by ancient civilisations and rooted in the rules of art workshops: the meticulous chasing of gold, silver or engraving of stone using techniques handed down through generations. Each piece, unique and made-to-measure for you, is the result of a delicate blend of the traditional and the contemporary.
18-carat gold: Our House traditionally uses 18-carat gold, which ensures excellent resistance over time while offering a beautiful yellow gold colour. This alloy also allows the colour of the metal to be adjusted by playing with the proportions of silver, copper and palladium to produce pink, red or white gold. White gold is rhodium-plated white gold, i.e. plated with rhodium to whiten its surface.
Platinum: This highly dense precious metal, with its elegant silver-like hue, offers longevity and resistance to oxidation. It is particularly suitable for heraldic intaglio engraving for those who like white metals without any particular maintenance.
925% Silver: Chosen for its beautiful luminosity and finesse, it is less resistant to time and oxidises, lending itself to more occasional wearing.
Stone engraving is an age-old tradition, dating back to antiquity. In those days, it was known as intaglio, a term still used today to describe this refined technique.
Hard stones: the most frequently chosen for engraving. Most are from the agate family: carnelian, sardonyx, green agate, blue or pink nicolo. Red or blood jasper and onyx are also ideal for intaglio.
Fine gemstones: aquamarine, peridot, amethyst, pink or green tourmaline, garnet, blue or yellow sapphire, citrine, tanzanite, cordierite, quartz, spinel, topaz and many more.
Synthetic stones: sapphire, ruby and garnet, translucent and free of inclusions, offer a homogenous colour and a beautiful setting for the engraving.
